I met a fellow traveller from Australia and we both decided to hitch-hike the 11km journey to Moraine Lake. It was definatley worth the effort as you can see from my photo.

I caught the 1 hour bus ride north to Lake Louise. I checked into the HI hostel. It was quite expensive for a hostel (about $32), but it was one of the best I have ever stayed in. The rooms contained a toilet and two bunk beds with large lockers. The hostel featured a huge kitchen, widescreen tv, and restaurant.
The following day I hiked for about 20kms by myself. Towards the end it started to rain and because I was only wearing shorts, I became quite cold.

I stopped in the lovely town of Revelstoke. The next day I rented a car and drove to Glacier National Park. Unfortunately all of the high alpine trails were still closed due to snow.
